15 oz Canvas Pro:
Our Sunforger treated 15oz Canvas Pro 100% cotton fabric is a fantastic choice for the ultimate in durability, breathability, and longevity. This tough canvas meets CPAI-84 standards for flame retardancy. In fact, flame retardant tents are required for use in California, Minnesota, Michigan, Louisiana, Massachusetts, New Jersey and New York. In addition, it is very water and mildew resistant. It performs excellent for wall tents and tipis when durability, and flame retardancy is a must. This canvas is a “dry finish” so it does not feel waxy or have a chemical smell. You will not be disappointed when choosing Canvas Pro.
10.10 oz Marine:
Our Sunforger treated 10.10 oz is an army duck 100% cotton canvas fabric treated for water/mildew resistance. It is “double fill” meaning the filling yarns are doubled and then woven. It is more tightly woven than single filled material and is very durable, breathable, very water repellent, and tough for its weight. This canvas is a “dry finish” so it does not feel waxy or have a chemical smell. This is a great choice for both tents and tipis. You will not be disappointed when choosing 10.10oz Marine.
12oz Natural Canvas:
The 12oz per square yard single filled canvas is a rugged and economical fabric. Even though it is our lowest price fabric, it is by no means “cheap”. It’s natural water-repellent qualities provide a nice choice for short term setups and performs best after it has been shrunk up a bit. The canvas is breathable and has good insulation qualities. We do recommend an aftermarket waterproofing treatment when using this fabric for longer periods of time.
14.90 oz Natural Canvas:
The 14.90oz per square yard single filled canvas is tough water repellent and warm. Because it has 20% more cotton woven into it than the 12oz, it has superior insulating qualities. It’s natural water-repellent qualities provide a nice choice for short term setups and performs best after it has been shrunk up a bit. The canvas is breathable and has good insulation qualities. This is a good choice when looking for a very “tough” canvas. We do recommend an aftermarket waterproofing treatment when using this fabric for longer periods of time.
13oz VCN:
The 13oz VCN fabric is designed for high performance and flexibility. It is waterproof, easy to handle, and translucent, which will allow some light to pass through and not darken the tent. This fabric is flame retardant to meet CPAI-84 flame retardancy standards and white in color. 13oz VCN is resistant to tears and abrasion making it a great choice for your next tent fly.
XL-Tex:
XL-Tex is a fire retardant coated polyester commercial tentage fabric used for tent flys on some of our models of tents and also for the interior liners of Yurts. This commercial fabric combined with performance coatings is light weight and fire retardant to meet CPAI-84 standards. XL-Tex has been successfully used in the outdoor market for many years. When you need a light weight, water resistant, and flame retardant fabric, this is a great choice.
